Volunteers Always Welcome!
You don’t have to ride the NSW Big Ride to share in the fun and enjoyment. By joining our volunteer crew you can experience the satisfaction of making this wonderful event a real success and a great experience for our participants.We need up to 200 volunteers to do a wide range of rewarding and fun jobs. We organise our volunteers into teams all led by an experienced team leader. When you apply to join the NSW Big Ride volunteer crew you fill in the
volunteering resume form which lets you tell us about your skills, experience and job preferences.
Volunteer teams cover a wide range of activities and tasks:
- Information (the front desk for the event)
- Logistics (setting up the campsite)
- Activities (running activities and entertainment program)
- Cafe Big (running our licenced cafe - the social centre of the event)
- Services (supplies hot water to wash up and catering)
- Catering (preparing and serving meals)
- Environment (keeping our campsites as clean as we found them)
- Luggage (loading and unloading riders' luggage)
- Deluxe camping (puts up special dome tents and delivers rider luggage)
- Massage (qualified massage therapists needed)
- Media (publishes the ride newssheet and website)
- Security (looks after site security)
- Medical (first aiders and doctors needed)
- Cycle route (marshals, mechanics, sign crew, water crew, sweep bus)
Full-time volunteers enter free.
Part-time volunteers get a substantial discount and can still ride each day.
